I am sitting here at my desk asking myself where the time has gone. no, not just cause it is 6:15 pm, where has the time gone... 2010... is is the middle of Feb all ready and what have i done? shoveled snow... helped so neighbors shovel snow... shoveled more and more snow then finally shoveled snow. this has been a crazy snow filled Feb. i heard back in December that this was going to the the coldest, wettest Feb on record and wow they are so true. Today is Ash wednesday... 46 days till Easter... the time goes by so fast. are we just a passenger of time or are we an active participant of it? i pray that as life goes by i am not just watching from the sidelines but i am on the field playing. we may make mistakes but we are in the game. to quote Ace Ventura... Put me in Coach, i am ready to play. lets go play.

new thoughts
The Journey 2010 was a huge success. There were lots of people... lots of crazy games and events... 2 yes 2 ER visits... God showed up... Attaboy rocked our faces off... rockband... dance pads... basketball... volleyball.. late night retro-track shorts runs and plenty of Red Bulls... people recieved Christ as their savior... friendships were made... healing happened... God broke into peoples lives and changed them... the journey is short but the rewards are eternal. thanks for taking it with us.

summer break
Summer is here... no school... a time to forget everything that you learned in the last 9 months -- empty the mind so you can start again in the fall cramming knowledge into it again. is there ever a summer vacation for the things you love? there is a saying out there that goes like this... if you truly love something set it free and if it comes back to you then you know that it loves you too... or an alternative ending would be if it doesn't come back hunt it down and shot it... but being a nonviolent passive aggressive person i will go with the first one. do you think that God ever did that? set us free to see if we would return to him? his amazing love and even more amazing grace i believe that God allows us the freedom that it takes to find out if we really do love him. not something your parents love or your friends love but you... a personal, deep, passionate love... a love that will last forever and ever and ever...
as you sit around the pool and play video games and count the stars why don't you count the blessings that God has given you to bring you back to him!

so there seems to be a lot of ideas floating around about the kid that goes to a christian school which forbids dancing and hand holding and going to the movies... it all seems a bit extreme but is it? to look at it at first glance i would have to agree with 90% of the people out there saying that it is ridiculous... but here is the other side of things... he signed a covenant saying that he would not do those things... he signed it under his own free will... so why is he surprised that they are the school now wants to do something about it? Is it foolish to think that our disobedience has no consequences? Or maybe he thought that it is ok to break the rules if he thinks the rules are stupid or over the top... what happens when he thinks that underage drinking is stupid or go to the extreme say that taking a live is stupid... what happens then? will that ever happen i pray not but it could. this is a good lesson for all of us in that if we disobey, even if we don't really agree with it, then there is an action that comes out of that. say a consequence. I respect the school for suspending him... do i agree with the whole thing... do i think that prom is a big watse of money and there is a lot of stuff our kids are being exposed to that they really don't need to be exposed to. Call me old fashioned or conservitive or whatever... but that is the way i feel. ok... i am done... until next time. Peace
